Vision: Building and strengthening in Western New York Perinatal Mental Wellness Parent Support Networks and Safety Nets in Allegany, Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, Erie, Genesee, Niagara, Orleans and Wyoming counties.
By offering prevention programs, screening and awareness campaigns, education and trainings, the Postpartum Resource Center of New York's Circle of Caring pregnancy and postpartum depression/anxiety support groups, as well as collaborations to increase treatment and support services — we will together be better able to help save lives and build healthy families for vibrant New York communities now and for generations.
Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders are the number one medical complication related to having a baby. When they are left undetected, untreated and undertreated they may have devastating consequences for moms, dads, families and communities.
Every year over 100,000 New York State families will be affected by a perinatal mood and anxiety disorder.
If you are interested in getting involved and would like to join the Western New York PMAD Task Force, please let me know. All are welcome.
Looking forward to working with you all!
