Zucker Hillside Hospital Perinatal Psychiatry in collaboration with the Postpartum Resource Center of New York and the Nassau County Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders Task Force Presents Dark Side of the Full Moon Free Documentary Screening. Movie will be followed by multidisciplinary panel discussion.

Perinatal mood and anxiety disorders (PMADs) are the #1 maternal health complication. Yet the illness often goes undiagnosed and untreated with devastating outcomes for mothers, babies, and families.
Dark Side of the Full Moon "delves into the unseen world of maternal mental health in the U.S. It will uncover the disconnect within the medical community to effectively screen, refer, and treat 1.3 million mothers affected each year, giving a face and voice to the countless women who have suffered in silence."
Movie will be followed by multidisciplinary panel discussion.
Participants will:
• Be aware of the number 1 complication in maternal health and the prevalence of PMADs
• Understand how screening for PMADs can be accomplished
• Recognize the symptoms of PMADs
• Understand barriers to diagnosis and care
• Understand that PMAD are treatable and the consequences of unrecognized and untreated PMAD’s
• Be aware of local community resources
Zucker Hillside Hospital Perinatal Psychiatry in collaboration with Postpartum Resource Center of New York and the Nassau County Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorder's Task Force present a free screening of Dark Side of the Full Moon.
The Zucker Hillside Hospital is North Shore-LIJ’s nationally recognized behavioral health center known for its pioneering clinical, teaching and research programs. Our outpatient programs serve all ages and encompass the full continuum of care. These services include the Perinatal Psychiatry Service- a team of multidisciplinary providers committed to women's health issues-specifically those of new or expectant mothers.
The Nassau County Perinatal Mood and Anxiety disorders task force is a multidisciplinary and multi-system group of providers committed to improving awareness and access to care for new and expectent mothers. The task force is made up of pediatricians, psychiatrists, OB nurses, social workers and child care providers representing several local insitutions including Zucker Hillside, South Oaks, Nassau University Medical Center, Winthrop, South Nassau Community Hospital, Visiting Nurse Services, the Child Care Council of Nassau County, theDianne Goldberg Maternal Depression Program- North Shore Child and Family Guidance, United Healthcare, The Postpartum Resource Center of New York, and the Nassau County Department of Health.
